I continue to be amazed and in awe of the intelligence, wit, and heart of Barack Obama. What an acceptance speech!!! It’s truly wonderful to believe again. To believe that we have a chance to elect a truly humane being. If you didn’t catch it watch it on his website they have it in its entirety not just a sound bite.
I have been laboring on, trying to make a difference every since before 9/11. After that horrific event and everything that came after it, I almost gave up. I have been ashamed of the actions of the people in control of our government and a lot of what I’ve read in the press. I hold a degree in Journalism and I am ashamed of the lack of ethics in the whole treatment of 9/11. From the first days when the announcers spoke over Maya Angelou who was trying to speak up for calm and prevent vengence, no one listened or gave voice to many that felt as she did. They didn’t even really listen to the families of 9/11 victims. I did. I believe what Ghandi said, “An eye for an Eye makes the whole world blind.” We have to look at the conditions that produced 9/11 and work to overcome them. People don’t hate with so much vehemence without a reason.
Humane values can and will suceed if we keep believing. Someone has to rise above and lead.If we can elect Senator Obama anything is possible.
Mon is on cloud nine.
